On Saturday, October 22, 2022, the Dakota James Foundation will host our 3rd Annual Leaves and Lager Fundraising event at the Frederick Fairgrounds, Frederick, Maryland.  The Dakota James Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to making a difference by working to keep our communities safe.  With help from supporters like you, we will: Continue to work with our local communities and public officials to make safety a priority; increase the number of surveillance cameras in underserved areas; bring safety awareness information to our communities and, continue to support families who are faced with the nightmare of having a loved one go missing.

The last two years have been busy for the Foundation.  Due to the pandemic, we were not able to hold events.  Instead, we focused our attention on serving our communities.  We worked with local food banks, provided lunches to our frontline healthcare workers, helped families connect by donating tablets to a home for the disabled, and more.  We understand the importance of random acts of kindness.  When Dakota went missing so many strangers stepped up and provided food, supplies, assisted with searches, and much more.

In addition, the Foundation engaged in two important safety projects, one with the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust and one with the Neighborhood Resilience Project. These projects resulted in placing over 20 cameras in underserved areas and gratifyingly placing cameras in downtown Pittsburgh facing the 6th Street Bridge where Dakota went missing.  Next, we are working to complete a key project in Frederick that will bring surveillance capabilities to several downtown business locations as well as neighborhoods and colleges.  We are grateful to have fulfilled many of our goals during a challenging time. We know Dakota would be proud as his hope was to make this world a better place. We will continue to do our best to honor Dakota by serving our local communities, both in Frederick and Pittsburgh.

We need your help and support to continue our work.  Please join us for our 3rd Annual Leaves and Lager Fundraiser.  Whether you attend the event, sponsor, become a vendor or simply donate, you will be making an impact.
